Delivery
Orders received before 2.00 pm will usually be shipped on the same day for delivery on the next working day. Should we be unable to ship your order we will let you know and provide an anticipated delivery date. Orders with a value of less than £50.00 before VAT will carry a small order delivery surcharge of £6.50 plus VAT
How do I choose the correct size of kit for my organisation?
Similar to the old HSE kits the content of the new BS8599 First Aid Kits are appropriate for use based on a combination of the risk of the workplace and the number of employees and visitors.
The guidance below can be used to ascertain which new kit you require for your workplace - please note that it is the duty of the employer to make an assessment of the first aid needs appropriate to the circumstances of your workplace and the information below acts as a guide only:
Category of Risk
Examples of low risk environments are shops, offices and libraries.
Examples of high risk environments are most construction sites, sluaghterhouses, working with chemicals or sharp metals.
Small Workplace Kit
Suitable for low risk environments with less than 25 employees or high risk environments with fewer than 5 employees.
Medium Workplace kit
Suitable for low risk environments with 25-50 employees or high risk environments with 5-25 employees.
Large Workplace Kit
Suitable for low risk environments with more than 50 employees; use one kit for every 100 employees or high risk environmrnts with more than 25 employees; use one kit for every 25 employees.
Travel Kit
The BS8599 Travel kits should be provided for all employees who work off site or who may not have access to first aid treatment and/or eyewash solution in the location where they are working..
Main changes from HSE kits to New BS8599 Kits: - Replace vinyl or latex gloves with increased number of nitrile gloves
- Introduction of finger bandages
- Introduction of adhesive tape to secure bandages without the use of safety pins
- Introduction of burn gel dressing and conforming bandage
- Introduction of Tuf cut scissors
- Introduction of resuscitation face shield
- Introduction of foil blanket to keep patient warm in cases of clinical shock
