About Us

Hygiene First Limited is a family business which was established in January 1995, and incorporated as a limited company in November 1997. As a supplier to the Food Processing industry in the United Kingdom, the original core business consisted of a wide range of disposable protective clothing that is sourced from carefully selected suppliers in the Far East and the United Kingdom. More recently the product range has been substantially extended to include first aid supplies janitorial products, PPE, safety footwear, and outdoor clothing. The Company is large enough to handle the most demanding of annual contracts, and yet small enough to care about the details that matter.

Our first website went live in 2007, selling first aid kits and supplies plus many other products from our food processing range. In May 2010 Hygiene First (Medical) Limited started trading specifically to handle online sales.

These two Companies now trade side by side with a mission statement to be the preferred supplier within our chosen market segments, offering a comprehensive range of high quality, cost effective products. We will endeavour to exceed expectations in all aspects of customer service.

To achieve our mission each Company focuses on three key strategies:

Customer Service

Each Company prides itself upon its customer service record. They have a distribution centre / warehouse on site. Local deliveries are made in the Company's own vehicles. The rest of the country is served by a national, next day parcel carrier service or 24/72 hour palletised delivery. These arrangements, combined with extensive stocks facilitate rapid response to customer requirements. Our paperwork is accurate and simple to understand. We do not part ship orders unless our customer specifically requests it.


Our policy has always been to provide the highest product and service quality, consistent with use within the food industry. We operate a quality management system based on BS/EN/ISO9000. Our quality system includes a commitment to continuous improvement, particularly in customer service.

Supply Chain Policy

Where possible our products are bought from approved original manufacturers and sold directly to end users throughout the United Kingdom, thus reducing the supply chain and enabling cost benefits to be passed to our customers.
